From Colleagues to Love, and Finally, Marriage. Tien and Lam’s love story began as a simple friendship between colleagues, gradually blossoming into a deep and meaningful connection. Through shared experiences and countless memorable moments, their bond grew stronger, overcoming both the joys and challenges of life. As their love deepened, they decided to celebrate their union with a wedding that was both traditional and timeless. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to tell the story of their love, creating a celebration as special as their relationship.
The wedding was divided into two parts. The first part of the celebration was a traditional Vietnamese wedding: the “Lễ Vu Quy” and the “Lễ Tân Hôn” (The Bride’s Leaving Ceremony and the Family Ceremony). The second part was a Western-style ceremony, including Vow Exchange and Reception.
The “Lễ Vu Quy” took place at the bride’s family home. This ceremony is a significant part of Vietnamese wedding traditions, where the groom formally asks for the bride’s hand in marriage from her family. For this ceremony, the chosen color theme transitioned from soft pastel pinks to deeper pinks and reds, reflecting the traditional yet vibrant nature of the celebration. The bride wore a delicate white áo dài, complemented by a graceful white veil that added a sense of grace while embracing the cultural tradition, showcasing both her beauty and her respect for the ceremony.
While the “Lễ Vu Quy” is held at the bride’s home, the “Lễ Tân Hôn” represents a more intimate ceremony, symbolizing the announcement of the couple’s marriage to their ancestors and their union in the family. It is traditionally held at the groom’s house, and for this ceremony, the couple chose a lush green color palette, paired with elegant white flowers such as calla lilies, lisianthus, irises, and tulips, creating a natural yet luxurious ambiance. Guests were invited to enjoy tea, along with assorted fruit and nut preserves served on wooden trays, perfectly complementing the earthy tones of the setting.
A key highlight of the “Lễ Tân Hôn” was the bride’s attire: she wore a magenta pink áo dài with intricate, subtle patterns. Lam, the bride, chose an elegant high bun hairstyle adorned with flowers, which beautifully showcased her graceful neck and delicate features. This thoughtful hairstyle was chosen to perfectly highlight the gold necklace gift traditionally given to the bride by her family during the ceremony. The wedding at the groom’s house was a heartfelt nod to tradition, honoring timeless values and the couple’s respect for their heritage.
Tien and Lam are modern individuals, and for their main wedding celebration, they wanted to infuse a sense of contemporary elegance into their ceremony. Lam shared with us her deep love for Japan — its culture, landscapes, and, most notably, Mount Fuji, which served as a symbolic witness to the couple’s love story. Tien proposed to Lam on a cool morning in a garden near Lake Kawaguchi, with the majestic Mount Fuji standing tall in the distance. The proposal was simple yet deeply emotional, surrounded by nature, encapsulating pure and passionate feelings.
We were honored to recreate this magical moment for Tien and Lam’s wedding day. A round stage was placed at the center of the venue, highlighted with floral arrangements and soft silk drapes, symbolizing the emotional essence of that unforgettable proposal. Positioned with a panoramic view of the surroundings, the stage allowed every guest to admire the couple’s happiness and love in every direction, creating an immersive and intimate atmosphere.
Preparing Lam’s wedding attire was a meticulous process, as she wanted to stand out on her special day. Together with our stylist, we selected five stunning outfits for the bride, ensuring that each look matched the theme of the ceremony and the mood of the event.
As mentioned, Lam wore a traditional áo dài for both wedding ceremonies at home to honor the rich Vietnamese cultural heritage.
For the main ceremony, we selected three gorgeous white dresses, each one embodying elegance. The first dress was chosen for the couple’s welcoming of guests, ensuring Lam would feel comfortable and chic while interacting with her guests. Given Lam’s elegant high neck, we selected a 2-strap gown to showcase her graceful neckline. The dress was beautified with sparkling crystals, with a delicate white flower accent that further enhanced the charm of the bride.
As Lam walked down the aisle, she wore a form-fitting mermaid dress with a long, dramatic train, and a soft, flowing veil that added an air of grandeur to her look. The dress was designed to accentuate her beautiful collarbones, and the choice of a strapless neckline highlighted her elegance. Lam resembled a princess walking into a fairy-tale garden, surrounded by the enchanting shades of purple and green. Her bridal bouquet cascaded with delicate waterfall flowers, and her accessories included sparkling crystal earrings and a pearl bracelet, all of which added a subtle touch of luxury, complementing the beauty of her dress and her radiant features.
After the formal ceremony, guests celebrated and toasted to the couple’s union. Lam later returned in a shorter, playful dress made with soft chiffon fabric, featuring a long, flowing sleeve detail that added an elegant hint. The groom wore a classic, elegant suit with a purple tie to match the wedding’s color theme. The couple joined their guests, engaging in games and celebrating together, bringing the evening to life with laughter and joy after the emotional moments of the ceremony.
