A Love Story Inspired by “Friends”
The love story of Hoàng Dũng and Khánh Linh has long captured the attention of audiences who admire the V-pop “prince of love songs.” When we sat down with them, their brief for an intimate wedding celebrating seven years together was clear:
1) Bursting with color – no room for boring
2) Every guest should feel at home and truly belong
About Linh & Dũng
Linh and Dũng reminisced about simple yet meaningful moments – inviting friends over, sharing meals, singing, and talking late into the night. From these everyday memories, Wed In Style developed the concept “Coming Home” (Về nhà), inspired by the beloved series Friends – a shared favorite of the couple, and also the title of a song Dũng wrote for Linh.
The celebration unfolds like a vibrant retro 90s living room – colorful, personal, and full of life. With a youthful, nostalgic, friendship-driven mood, the space evokes the warmth of shared memories and the ease of being surrounded by close friends.
As hosts, Linh and Dũng welcome their guests with warmth and ease—through food, games, music, and laughter—turning the day into a heartfelt gathering that flows naturally from afternoon into evening, just like coming home.
Friends - Themed Wedding Decorations in Detail
Decoration & Color Palette
Decoration: The decoration embraces a playful, Friends-inspired wedding spirit – balancing color, texture, and a sense of spontaneity. Florals are styled in a natural, garden-inspired approach, using clusters of small blooms and wild greenery to create an effortless, lived-in feel. The palette leans toward vibrant tones: purple, yellow, pink, and orange, bringing energy and warmth to the space. Hand-painted vases in mixed colors add a layer of personality, reinforcing the handmade, fun, and slightly imperfect charm.
Color Palette: Color inspiration draws directly from “Friends” – particularly Monica’s iconic living room, with its signature purple door, layered with tones of brown, yellow, and red to create a retro, cozy yet expressive atmosphere. Not only this, we mixed this palette with other colorful color to make sure the vibes can be fun as the couple expected the wedding to be!
Stage Design
The stage is envisioned as a continuation of the living room: intimate, expressive, and inviting. A statement oversized lamp becomes the focal point, casting a warm golden glow as evening falls, creating a sense of closeness and comfort.
Surrounding the stage, smaller floor lamps, florals, and greenery are layered to evoke a home-meets-garden atmosphere. The circular stage platform, combined with playful patterns stripes, florals, and bold colors, adds a sense of movement and personality.
At the center, a sofa replaces the traditional stage setup, allowing Linh and Dũng to sit during their vows as if in a daily conversation natural, relaxed, and deeply personal.
Dining Area
The dinner setting continues this lived-in, eclectic aesthetic. Floor lamps are placed throughout the space, paired with chairs in mixed colors and styles, creating a setting that feels collected over time rather than formally arranged.
Along the length of the tables, floor lamps act as both decor and storytelling elements by day, guiding the bride’s entrance like a pathway; by night, casting a warm, intimate glow across the dining space.
Table details bring in a playful, artistic touch: embroidered floral napkins add texture and color, while hand-painted vases with loose, slightly imperfect strokes, introduce a sense of spontaneity, fun, and familiarity.

Each element is designed as a touchpoint – coming together to recreate the feeling of stepping into a friend’s home.
The Welcome Door
A signature purple door, iconic to Friends sets the tone from the very first moment. It acts as a symbolic entrance, inviting guests into a space that feels instantly familiar and warm.
The Living Room Setup
Clusters of sofas are arranged throughout the space, transforming the venue into an open, shared living room. The layout encourages connection, where guests can sit, gather, and naturally interact, enhancing the cozy, intimate vibe.
The Mini Bar Fridge
A refrigerator turned into a self-service mini bar adds a playful, lived-in touch, just like grabbing a drink at a friend’s house.
The Audio Guest Book
A vintage-style telephone becomes an audio guest book, allowing guests to leave messages in a nostalgic, interactive way.
The Photo Corner
Positioned right after the entrance, the photobooth is styled like a corner of a colorful home. A yellow sofa sits at the center, surrounded by framed photos capturing the couple’s journey, blending personal storytelling with visual styling.
Interactive Play Area
Game elements such as Nintendo and air hockey invite guests to engage, play, and unwind bringing back the carefree spirit of hanging out with friends.
Together, these elements create more than just decoration they shape an experience that feels relaxed, personal, and deeply familiar, like coming home.
Customized Details for the Couple
The Vows Book
Rather than digitally designed and printed stationery, Linh & Dũng gravitated toward something more personal details that feel truly like them. The vows book was created using embroidered elements, bringing a tactile, handcrafted quality to each piece.
Motifs such as the sofa, shared memories, and inside nicknames, details only close friends would recognize were illustrated by one of their best friends and woven into the design. It becomes more than a book; it’s a deeply personal object, holding the words they wrote for each other, something that exists only for them.
Bridal Bouquet & Look
Inspired by Linh’s love for Sailor Moon, her bridal bouquet takes on the shape of a magical wand—playful and expressive, composed of mixed blooms in vibrant colors.
Paired with a custom gown from Raged Romance, detailed with subtle sparkles, along with gloves and a delicate veil, the entire look feels distinctly hers—bold, whimsical, and unapologetically Linh.

Why This Venue
- For Linh & Dũng, the venue needed to feel like a place to gather: comfortable, open, and close to nature. Surrounded by greenery and set by the lake, the ceremony area brings an open, airy feeling, creating the kind of relaxed atmosphere you’d find in an evening BBQ with friends. It allows the celebration to unfold effortlessly, from daylight into night, without losing its sense of intimacy.
- The layout, shaped by a row of trees, was embraced rather than adjusted. Curved long tables and a few round tables were used to follow the space naturally, creating a seating arrangement that feels more intimate and connected.
- Overall, the venue supports the spirit of the wedding: informal, welcoming, and centered around togetherness.
