Amina and Denis have travelled a long, beautiful journey together: from sharing a bao-burger in Paris, to slow dancing under the Italian sky, to exploring the islands of the Philippines.

And Vietnam became the place where a brand-new chapter began – the country where Denis proposed, and later, where they chose to say “I do.”

Although Denis is French and did not grow up in Vietnam, he carries Vietnamese heritage through his family. Because of that connection, he had always dreamed of returning to his ancestral homeland to experience the culture, cuisine, and landscapes he had only heard stories about. Their wedding in Vietnam was not just a celebration of love, but also a meaningful way for Denis to reconnect with his roots.

Boundaries fade where love begins

THE MORNING

The day began with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony. Both the bride and groom dressed in elegant áo dài, honoring Denis’s heritage and embracing a meaningful cultural ritual. The room was decorated with a large red “Song Hỷ” symbol, representing double happiness and blessings for the couple’s future.

By the end of the ceremony, everyone was a little exhausted, especially Amina, who was still adjusting to Vietnam’s warm tropical heat. To lift her spirits, she put on her favorite playlist, “Dự báo thời tiết hôm nay mưa” (which translates to “Weather Forecast Says It Will Rain Today”).

Ironically, despite the playlist’s name, the sky blessed them with nothing but sunshine. A lucky, cheerful start to the day.

Love crosses oceans, cultures, and everything in between

THE AFTERNOON

In the afternoon, the main wedding ceremony took place along the beautiful turquoise coastline of Nha Trang. The sky was blue, the sea was blue, even the gardens around them were a vibrant green. To contrast the natural scenery, we added bright tropical floral tones like red and yellow, creating a lively and unforgettable atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed light bites and refreshing drinks with a Vietnamese touch from cold bia hơi to savory chả lá lốt. It was the perfect blend of tradition, culture, and coastal charm.

THE EVENING

As the sun began to set, everyone relaxed by the shoreline, listening to the gentle waves, enjoying the cool ocean breeze, and savoring Vietnamese dishes together. It was a warm, joyful evening for Amina and Denis surrounded by loved ones.

The highlight of the night was when the couple made their entrance accompanied by two giant lân (lion dance mascots), sparking laughter and delight from all the guests. Then Amina and Denis took each other’s hands and danced slowly under the soft music — two people blending into one, wrapped in the magic of their wedding night.
